Florida Realtors will be hosting webinars this week regarding practice changes, and NAR released a new Consumer Guide about compensation offers.
ORLANDO, Fla. – This week, Florida Realtors will host two webinars to help Realtors® navigate the recent industry changes and gain key insights to strengthen buyer trust. In addition, the National Association of Realtors® released a new Consumer Guide that further demonstrates the value of working with a Realtor.
The Florida Realtors webinars will cover topics important to buyers and sellers:
Monday, Sept. 16 (2 p.m., ET): Contract Rider webinar with Juana Watkins, Florida Realtors vice president of law and policy and general counsel. Topics covered:
- Credit Related to Buyers Broker Compensation – This form may be used when a seller agrees to give a credit to the buyer in a transaction when the buyer has entered into a separate buyer’s brokerage agreement and elects to apply the credit towards buyer brokerage compensation.
- Seller’s Agreement with Respect to Buyers Broker Compensation – This form may be used by the buyer to make the contract contingent on the seller or seller’s broker executing a separate compensation agreement with the buyer’s broker, with terms acceptable to the buyer.
Tuesday, Sept. 17 (9:30 a.m., ET): Buyer Representation – What You Need to Know with Cynthia DeLuca. This webinar does not provide CE credit. Topics covered:
- How we got here and why
- What was required on August 17
- Understanding Florida “agency relationships” and buyer representation
- Understanding new forms, including buyer broker agreements, new compensation agreements and showing agreements.
In addition, NAR released another Consumer Guide, this one to provide sellers with insights into offers of compensation including what they are and why to make one. Like the other four in NAR’s series, it is designed to be downloaded and shared directly with inquiring consumers.
